I’ve was in love with visual art from a very young.
Having a leaning towards art and graphic design as school, my creativity helped me to channel my focus into something that I was good at, and passionate about. In 2007, I graduated from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), and subsequently lived in London for 5 years, working as a professional actor. After a period in London, I decided to move back to Birmingham, to be closer to family. However, after moving back, I struggled to find work, as the Theatre industry in Birmingham was not as established as in London, and not many shows were being produced.
Whilst in Birmingham, I volunteered for a non-profit organisation (NPO). This NPO wanted support to develop content for their YouTube channel. At this point YouTube was very much in its infancy, and Canon had recently released the 550D, a DSLR that had the ability to record video. During my time with the NPO, I taught myself about video editing, and motion graphic animations with Adobe Creative tools.
I also took many projects from conception to delivery, both as an independent videographer and as part of the team. My work saw me organising and orchestrating a number of Music Video shoots, Promotional Campaigns, Live Events and Music Concerts.
After leaving the company, I began to build my own reputation and gained more industry experience in production. I shot some of my own short films as well as working as a Second Assistant Director on an independent Feature and a Production Assistant on another.
Currently, I work on various independent projects in Theatre and Film as an Actor, Director, Writer and Producer. I have also had the role of Production Manager and stage crew. In addition, I have also progressed to Third Assistant Director with BBC Studios on the daytime TV show Doctors. I am also co-directing and producing my first Independent feature film.
